Conference on transparency in research – 22nd October 2020

Members of the TeRRItoria consortium will, on the afternoon of Thursday the 22nd of October, be attending a conference from the University of Groningen on making research more accessible, transparent, and reproducible. Entitled “Celebrating openness”, this event will last from 13:00 to 17:00 and will strive to answer the following questions:

  • Why is transparency important for the research process?
  • What are the advantages and challenges of opening up research?
  • How are researchers at the University of Groningen doing this in practical terms?
  • Can a modified lottery be a just method to assign research funding or prizes?

It will achieve this through two keynote presentations by professors on transparency and open research practices respectively, three shorter presentations of case studies by researchers, and a panel discussion on modified lotteries in research funding. For the full agenda and the chance to sign up, please see the event webpage.
