Gender Equality Certification: lessons learnt and future developments

On 25th February 2021 (13:30-15:30 CET), the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice will organise an event titled “Gender Equality Certification: Lessons learnt and future developments” as part of the seminar series program of the Inclusion Diversity and Gender Network and in the framework of the Horizon 2020 projects CASPER and GEARING-Roles

This event, taking place at Oxford Brookes University (UK), will be moderated by Dr. Anne Laure Humbert of the Centre for Diversity Policy, Research, and Practice. It will take on the use of Certification and Awards schemes (CAs) in gender equality efforts and how they influence organizations actions on the matter.

Dr. Humbert and the different panellists invited to the event will discuss different subjects, such as the importance of academic research to inform and address the unintended consequences of gender equality certification, the development of CAs for gender equality that induce structural and cultural change rather than simply box ticking exercises.

They will address the legacy of the Athena SWAN project on gender equality certification, notably for the potential creation of Europe-wide CAs, and how the use of incentives can affect future CAs.

Finally, they will take on the creation of links and potential equivalencies between different CAs, at national and international level.

To follow this event registration is required, although it is free of charge. You can register for the event and find more information about it by following this link
